Meet Your Teachers

Anna

Hi!

I'm Anna Turunen, and I lead the children's Tuesday group, the music playgroup, and the beginners' group for adults at FinnFun. I have been involved with FinnFun for about years now and I am also the secretary of the board.

I have a Master's degree in Education and am a special education teacher. I worked as a general special education teacher in an elementary school in Finland for 18 years.

Music has been a beloved hobby of mine since childhood. I play the violin and sing in the Elektra choir here in Vancouver.

Let’s see in class!

Tanja

I am Tanja Sabell, chair of FinnFun's board and teacher of Finnish language classes offered to adults. I have lived in North Vancouver with my husband and two sons since 2018. I have a master's degree in educational sciences.

When I lived in Finland, I worked in HR and communication positions in the shipyard industry. I enjoy horseback riding, skiing, golf, being outdoors in the beautiful scenery of Vancouver, and, of course, vacationing, especially in Finland.

I look forward to seeing you in class!
